Gerstell Academy Celebrates Earth Day
The student body was divided into 18 teams representing lower, middle, and upper school students, who participated in several stations throughout the day.
The “Community Service Station” provided students and faculty with opportunities to plant flowers, paint murals, rocks and/or pavers, and visit the newly installed Butterfly Garden.
The “Community Outreach Station” featured members of the community who presented educational topics and demonstrations which allowed for student participation. Students created their own water filter and learned the importance of water filtration.
The “Enjoying Our Community Station” introduced students to local farming with soil sampling, farm equipment, and drone demonstrations from local farmers.
Students were also invited to enjoy a Bird Talk/Walk from a representative from the Carroll County Birding Club, a representative from “Five Million Trees” and enjoyed a campus nature walk.
Gerstell Academy wishes to thank and acknowledge the Gerstell parents and community members who shared their time, their talents, and their treasures on this annual day of tribute.
