On Friday, April 19th, the Gerstell Academy community celebrated Earth Day! Students and faculty participated in a variety of Earth Day activities designed to teach, motivate, and inspire interest in the environment.
Prodigy Education, Inc. is a free educational platform focused on game-based learning. To play Prodigy, students create an avatar and embark on epic adventures, with fellow classmates, all while learning math. The platform allows the teacher to track student’s progress, provides real-time data, and allows the teacher to manipulate the math questions to suit the student’s academic needs.
On Tuesday, March 19th, the Gerstell Academy Upper School Current Events Club welcomed Daniel Di Martino, a Venezuelan refugee, and the founder of the Dissident Project,a non-profit which educates students around the country on the consequences of socialism Mr. DiMartino is a PhD candidate at Columbia University, and graduate fellow at the Manhattan Institute.
