Gerstell Academy Announces New Varsity Lacrosse Coach
Gerstell Academy is thrilled to announce the appointment of our new Varsity Boys Lacrosse Coach. We are delighted to welcome Coach Ryan Drenner to campus as the Head Boys Lacrosse Coach. He will also serve as a full-time faculty member.
Born and raised in Finksburg and a graduate of Westminster High School, Coach Drenner currently plays for the Cannons Lacrosse Club in the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL). His recent experience includes a stint as Offensive Coordinator at York College from 2021 to 2023. Prior to that, he coached at McDaniel College between 2018 and 2020 before relocating to Georgia to manage 3D Lacrosse.

Coach Drenner is an alumnus of Towson University, where he earned the titles of 2016 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Co-player of the Year, 2016 and 2017 CAA First-team All-Conference, and the 2017 Towson University Athlete of the Year. His professional lacrosse career began with the Florida Launch in the Major League Lacrosse (MLL), and he clinched the inaugural PLL Championship in 2019 with the Whipsnakes Lacrosse Club. He has been named an All-Star in the PLL three times, in 2019, 2021, and 2022.
As we embark on this new journey of Falcon Boys Lacrosse, we anticipate his contributions to the continued growth and success of our program based on the achievements of the past years.
