The annual event marked a significant milestone and included welcome comments from President, Mr. John Polasko, and Head of Upper School, Mr. Brian Abbott. The Invocation was delivered by Adebiyi (Bebe) Adetunji, the Class Vice President, and closing comments were presented by Class President, Ashtyn Logue.
Mr. Abbott explained the historical roots of the tradition behind the ceremony, which originated at the United States Military Academy (West Point) in 1835. In a tradition that continues today, it was there where students first wore identical rings to represent their class unity.
In addition to receiving their rings, Gerstell students also received an engraved brick with their name and graduation year as a lasting legacy to be placed on the campus of Gerstell Academy.
