Gerstell Athletic Department Hosts Upper School Spring Athletic Awards

On Monday, May 18, the Gerstell Athletic Department welcomed students, faculty, coaches, staff, and parents to celebrate the spring athletics season and recognize the accomplishments of our dedicated student-athletes. Held in the Alumni House, the event was hosted by Athletic Director, Mr. Phil Gilotte, and featured award presentations by the Varsity Baseball and Lacrosse coaches. 

The ceremony began with Mr. Gilotte’s warm welcome before individual coaches took the stage to present awards for each sport. The coveted Falcon Award and Coaches’ Leadership Award honored athletes who exemplified dedication, sportsmanship, and excellence both on and off the field. As each coach introduced their award recipients, they shared heartfelt reflections from teammates highlighting what made each recipient stand out during the season. 

This season’s award winners included: 

Boys Varsity Baseball: Presented by Coach Cap Poklemba 

Boys' Varsity Lacrosse: Presented by Coach Ryan Drenner 

Girls’ Varsity Lacrosse: Presented by Coach Nicole Pugh 

 Beyond the athletes, Mr. Gilotte took a moment to recognize the vital contributions of the team managers. Their tireless efforts and commitment were acknowledged, and their perseverance and teamwork were celebrated as crucial components of the teams' successes. 

In his closing remarks, Mr. Gilotte extended his gratitude to the athletes for their hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship throughout the spring season. He congratulated all the athletes for their participation and resilience, emphasizing the importance of effort and collaboration in achieving success as a team. 

The event was a meaningful tribute to the achievements of our athletes and a wonderful way to close out the spring sports season at Gerstell Academy.
