Upper School Students Shine as Environmental Leaders at Carroll County EnviroFest

Upper School students demonstrated leadership and creativity in a county-wide recycling contest focused on sustainability and environmental awareness. Their projects were featured at Carroll County EnviroFest, held at the Robert Moton Center in Westminster, an event uniting local organizations, educators, and advocates committed to protecting our planet. Many vendors were familiar partners from our Earth Day celebrations, while others will join future initiatives—reflecting a growing network of environmental stewardship.

Gerstell students contributed 16 of the 25 entries in our first year of participation. While we did not place, their innovation and commitment stood out to judges and visitors alike. Projects showcased creative ways to reuse materials, reduce waste, and rethink everyday habits—connecting science, art, and community action. Inspired by the experience, students left empowered to lead the charge toward a more sustainable future.
