Gerstell Academy Varsity Boys Soccer Team Volunteers with Shooting Stars Program

This past Friday, the Gerstell Academy Varsity Boys Soccer team had the honor of volunteering with the Freedom Optimist Shooting Stars program — a local initiative dedicated to providing children with special needs the opportunity to experience the joy of soccer in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Throughout the evening, our student-athletes enthusiastically mentored and encouraged the Shooting Stars players, assisting with drills, helping score goals, and sharing their passion for the game. The event was more than just a chance to play soccer; it was a meaningful opportunity for our team to connect with young athletes, build relationships, and foster a sense of community.

By demonstrating leadership, compassion, and a commitment to service, our players embodied the core values we strive to uphold both on and off the field. Their dedication and positive energy made a lasting impact on the Shooting Stars participants and their families, creating an atmosphere of joy, teamwork, and mutual respect.
