Girls Varsity Volleyball Splits Pair, Shows Strength
In a pair of exciting matchups, Gerstell faced off against Catholic High and the FCA Bravehearts, showcasing resilience and skill on the court. On Wednesday, September 24th, Catholic High edged out Gerstell with a 3-1 win (25-21, 25-20, 23-25, 25-23). Despite the loss, Gerstell players delivered strong individual performances, including Josie Conley’s 19 digs and Leah Wilson’s 22 assists and 5 kills.
Gerstell bounced back on Friday, September 26th, with a commanding 3-1 victory over the FCA Bravehearts (25-16, 16-25, 25-10, 25-9). The team displayed a balanced attack and solid defense, led by Josie Conley’s 22 digs and 3 aces, and Alexis Gilotte’s 11 kills, 9 digs, 9 assists, and 3 aces. Leah Wilson contributed across the board with 14 assists, 3 kills, 3 aces, 4 digs, and 2 blocks, while teammates Natalie Delgado, Megan Rudo, Livi Nyerges, Salma Tigoudar, and Summer Beaumont all made key contributions to secure the win.
