Akil Errapothu '17 just graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Economics from Penn State University, but that was not all. In a separate ceremony, he was commissioned Army active duty Ordnance. Akil will be going to Fort Knox, Kentucky May 24 - July 30 for his Cadet Summer Training (CST) Cadre as a TAC Officer for advanced camp. Training, Advising, and Counseling (TAC) Officers are responsible for training, mentoring, and coaching Warrant Officer Candidates for 17 branches and 67 warrant officer specialties in warrior tasks, leadership skills, and officer attributes for the Army's premier Warrant Officer producing school. Next he will be heading to Fort Lee for his BOLC training from Aug 1-Nov 19. The Basic Officer Leader Course (BOLC) is a two-phased training course designed to commission officers and prepare them for service in the United States Army. Once this training is complete, Akil will be stationed in Katterbach Kaserne, Germany with the 1-3rd Aviation Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, 12th Combat Aviation Brigade. He will be assigned as a Platoon Leader there and be stationed in Germany beginning for a minimum of 3 years.
Congratulations Akil on all your wonderful accomplishments. The Gerstell Community is very proud of you, and we thank you for your service.
