Honor Student Nominated for Congress of Future Medical Leaders

Kirkland Kilroy, a Gerstell Academy sophomore, is a delegate to the Congress of Future Medical Leaders, an honors-only program for high school students who wish to enter the medical profession in research or as a physician.

A March 20-21 event will be held and is designed to honor, inspire, and motivate the country’s top students who are interested in pursuing a medical career. During this two-day event, students will hear lectures about leading medical research, learn expectations about medical school from top medical school deans, witness stories told by patients who are “living medical miracles,” and learn about cutting-edge advances and the future in medicine technology.

Kirkland's nomination was signed by Dr. Mario Capecchi, winner of the Nobel Prize in Medicine, and Science Director of the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists. It was based on Kirkland’s academic achievement, leadership potential, and determination to serve humanity in the field of medicine. Congratulations Kirkland!
