Gerstell Academy's Speech and Debate Team is sponsoring two teams to compete in the National High School Ethics Bowl. The 2020 Baltimore Regional Competition will take place on Saturday, February 1st, at the University of Baltimore's Thumel Business Center under the direction of the Hoffberger Center for Professional Ethics. Returning as repeat regional champions, Gerstell Academy will be represented by team captains Jana Dubinovsky and Jessica Silverman. "Team A" includes Kate Maerten, Brendan Dillon, Lilly Norbeck, Drystan Nielson, Emma Leonard, Anne Carr, and Chris Day. "Team B" includes Hunter Linton,Taylor Yetta, Brenna Bruffey, Elizabeth Chagalis, David Martinez, and Delaney Maul. The coach for both teams is Leadership Instructor Mr. Dane Menges. The students have been hard at work after school, on weekends, and over breaks preparing for their chance to demonstrate their critical thinking abilities and discuss the ethical and moral dimensions of 12 complex cases with other local high school teams. These students are truly working to reach their full potential. We are very proud of their accomplishments and look forward to Saturday's competition.
