Gerstell Academy Student Lee Pearson Accepted into Prestigious Summit STEM Fellowship Program
Gerstell Academy is proud to announce that Lee Pearson has been accepted into the highly competitive Summit STEM Fellowship Program. Selected from a pool of more than 2,500 applicants representing over 80 countries, Lee’s achievement highlights his exceptional academic dedication, passion for STEM, and commitment to making a meaningful impact on the world.
The Summit STEM Fellowship (SSF) is a distinguished summer program for ambitious students entering grades 9 through 12 in Fall 2025. Designed to foster leadership in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, the fellowship provides a three-week flexible experience, with all events held during evenings and weekends. Students commit 10–15 hours per week while balancing participation in other summer programs.
Throughout the fellowship, students engage in a dynamic lineup of programming, including Fireside Chats, STEM Shorts, Skill Builders, and Career Panels. Each series introduces fellows to various academic disciplines, teaches essential life skills, and equips students with practical tools to succeed in high school and beyond.
In addition to the core programming, fellows have access to an extensive range of resources and optional events throughout the summer. Students benefit from one-on-one mentorship during office hours, network with peers through coffee chats, and complete weekly deliverables designed to help them practice and apply newly learned skills. Programming is designed to be as actionable as possible, helping students directly implement strategies that will enhance their academic and leadership journeys. Upon acceptance, students receive a detailed program handbook outlining the full fellowship experience.
"I am excited for this opportunity and grateful for the support I have received from Ms. Shields and Ms. Keriazes throughout the application process," Lee shared.
Gerstell Academy congratulates Lee Pearson on this outstanding accomplishment and looks forward to supporting him as he continues to embody leadership, scholarship, and innovation.
