Gerstell Academy Seniors Achieve Eagle Scout Designation
For Matthew’s Eagle Scout project, he built benches along the nature trail at the Jewish Community Center in Owings Mills in order to provide additional accessible outdoor seating. He also improved the seating area to provide a functional space for campers.
Ari’s project focused on the Smith Brothers Baseball Field on the campus of Gerstell Academy, where he constructed a new bullpen area to provide the athletes with a dedicated space to train and improve. Chosen from scouts across Maryland, Ari was also selected to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at a recent Baltimore Orioles game and has been invited to attend the Distinguished Citizen Award Luncheon. He will also meet with Orioles’ owner Mr. David Rubenstein in honor of his Eagle Scout designation.
The Gerstell community congratulates Ari and Matthew on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, as it is a lifelong designation that recognizes exceptional leadership, service and character.
