    LEGO Camp

    Welcome to Summer LEGO/LEGO Robotics Summer Camp 2024. This camp is designed to encourage critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork while being engaged in hands on learning. Each day will bring new challenges for the “aspiring engineers.” They will be given instruction, design challenges, and competitions appropriate to their age group/ability. Working individually and in small groups, the engineering design process will be used as the engineer’s design and build motorized machines, catapults, bridges, and other construction with LEGOs. Robotics will be used to wobble, drive, crank, walk, flex, reel, grab, revolve, steer, sweep, tilt, turn, pull, push, lift, and spin objects.  The engineers will use passion, conviction, and persistence while approaching these endeavors. We look forward to working with you!

    Middle School students need a strong foundation in organization, study skills, public speaking, Math, and English. Navigating fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth grade will require preparation. This one-week camp is designed to provide the keys to success in the upcoming school year and serves as an excellent resource for all middle school students. Study techniques and organization methods will be emphasized. Students will work on effective communication skills and ways to build friendships. Students will work to improve writing, vocabulary, reading comprehension, grammar, problem solving, arithmetic, and critical thinking skills. Students will also examine appropriate digital etiquette and be introduced to the many aspects of the Gerstell Academy Portal, which is utilized by all middle school teachers. This camp will prepare all students for a successful year in Middle School!
