Alumni Pickleball Tournament Finally Takes the Court

Originally scheduled earlier in the year, the Alumni Pickleball Tournament faced another postponement Homecoming weekend due to inclement weather. While players eagerly awaited their chance to compete, reconnect, and enjoy some friendly rivalry, Mother Nature had other plans. Despite the setbacks, alumni remained enthusiastic, and the event coordinators were determined to make it happen.

Their persistence paid off as alumni, alumni parents, and faculty gathered on campus Saturday October 10, for a beautiful day of pickleball, camaraderie, and school spirit. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, encouragement, and just the right amount of spirited energy. Competitors of all skill levels participated, with seasoned pickleball players showcasing impressive shots while newcomers quickly learned why the sport has become one of the fastest-growing games in the country.

"The third time really was the charm," Mrs. Hand joked, reflecting on the perseverance it took to finally hold the event. The excitement was evident throughout the morning as players embraced the opportunity to return to campus and be part of a tradition that continues to strengthen the Gerstell community.

As the final matches concluded and champions were crowned, participants left with smiles, shared stories, and hopes that next year's tournament might require a little less patience. One thing was certain: after two postponements and months of anticipation, the Alumni Pickleball Tournament was well worth the wait.

Gerstell Academy extends its sincere thanks to all alumni and friends who remained flexible through the rescheduling process and joined us for this special event. We look forward to welcoming even more Falcons back to the courts next year for another day of competition, connection, and fun.

Congratulations to Kyle Rudich ’26 and Craig Meseske ’26, who were crowned champions!
