Tyrin Hawkins ’18: Building a Career in Professional Sports

Gerstell Academy is proud to launch a new series highlighting the remarkable journeys of our alumni and the impact they are making beyond our campus.

We begin with Tyrin Hawkins ’18, whose hard work, determination, and passion for sports have helped lead him to an exciting start in the professional sports industry.

For the past nine months, Tyrin has served as an Associate with the Baltimore Orioles, gaining valuable experience inside one of Major League Baseball’s most storied organizations. Recently, Gerstell Academy visited Tyrin at Oriole Park at Camden Yards for a behind-the-scenes look at his role and the experiences that have shaped the beginning of his professional journey.

During our visit, Tyrin shared his workplace, introduced us to several of his colleagues, and reflected on his path from Gerstell Academy to professional sports. He discussed the lessons he carried with him from Gerstell, the value of building relationships and embracing new opportunities, and what he has learned while working in the fast-paced world of Major League Baseball.

Tyrin’s story reflects perseverance, professional growth, and a willingness to pursue opportunities with purpose.

And his journey is only getting started.

We are proud to celebrate Tyrin and look forward to following the next chapter of his career.
