Upper School English

Gerstell Academy is seeking an inspiring, engaging, and encouraging English teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year, with leadership experience and the capacity to teach upper school English (grades 9 through 12).  Possible courses include: English I, English II (World Lit), English III (American Lit), English IV (British Lit), Creative Writing, Ethics in Literature, AP Language & Composition, and Essential Questions in the Humanities.  Duties will therefore include teaching the Mission, Motto, Principles and Attributes, teaching English courses, curriculum mapping, serving as a student advisor, and other duties as assigned or needed to develop school programs.  The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in English, prior teaching experience, and certification is preferred.  The desired candidate will be able to teach English as an academic course, and as a vehicle to teach leadership education, critical thinking skills, and character development.  For additional information on Gerstell Academy, please visit www.gerstell.org.
