Middle School Prep For Success Camp

Middle School is an exciting time of growth and strong preparation makes all the difference. Middle School students need a solid foundation in leadership, organization, study skills, public speaking, math, and English to confidently navigate fifth through eighth grade.

This one-week Middle School Preparation Camp is designed to provide students with the keys to success for the upcoming school year and serves as an excellent resource for all middle school students, including incoming fifth graders, students new to Gerstell Academy, and returning GA students alike. Throughout the week, students will build effective study techniques and organizational habits, strengthen communication skills, and learn strategies for forming positive friendships.

All activities are grounded in Gerstell Academy’s leadership model, helping students develop confidence, responsibility, and self-advocacy. Academically, students will work to improve writing, vocabulary, reading comprehension, grammar, problem-solving, arithmetic, and critical-thinking skills.

There will also be focused guidance and support for the summer reading assignment and the Founder’s Challenge for students who choose to participate. In addition, students will explore appropriate digital etiquette and become familiar with the many features of the Gerstell Academy Portal, a tool used by all middle school teachers and students.

By the end of the week, students will feel prepared, confident, and ready to begin a successful year in Middle School.
