The Gerstell Academy Girls Varsity Lacrosse team is on a roll! They opened with a dominant 15–3 win over Saints Peter and Paul, led by Piper Gallagher’s six goals and Kirsten Clarius’s five-point effort. Addy McIlvain controlled the draw, and Payton Knight made six saves in goal. The Falcons kept the momentum going with a 22–12 conference win over St. Timothy’s, as Gallagher tallied eight goals and Clarius added seven points. With strong play on both ends, the Falcons are firing on all cylinders!
The Boys Varsity Lacrosse team is on a hot streak! They rolled past St. John’s with eight assisted goals and a lockdown defense, allowing just two. Sophomore goalie Gaige Hamburg was stellar with 11 saves and an 84% save rate. The momentum continued in a thrilling overtime win over Hereford. Down 7–4, the Falcons rallied as Ryan Ellis tied it late and netted the game-winner in OT. Hamburg added 12 more saves, while senior Matthew Scholz dominated the face-off circle with 14 wins and 12 ground balls. A true team effort and a well-earned victory!
Your Varsity Baseball Falcons are on fire! With dominant back-to-back wins over St. Paul’s (7–1) and St. Mary’s (11–1), they showcased power, precision, and grit. Brody Clark sparked the offense with a double, while Gavin Larson delivered a clutch single and struck out seven on the mound. Colt Gingher was nearly untouchable, allowing just three hits over nearly six innings. Brayden Gmeiner ignited the game with a grand slam, followed by a key double from Craig Meseke. The Falcons racked up 23 hits, five stolen bases, and played flawless defense in a statement performance.
The Falcons surged to a 7-0 lead with early contributions from John Davis, Brody Clark, Craig Meseke, and others, aided by a defensive error from the Dragons. Gavin Larson earned the win with an impressive five-and-a-third innings, nine strikeouts, and just one unearned run, while Clark and Meseke led the offense with standout performances.
The Falcons showed incredible potential with standout performances from Ryan Ellis, Darren Fling, and Gaige Hamburg, despite the defeat. Such efforts, even in challenging times, pave the way for future growth and success.

Gerstell Academy alumnus Anthony Carpenter ’19 transitioned from a record-breaking high school basketball career to playing at Bowie State University. Now serving as an assistant coach for the Bowie State Bulldogs, Anthony has found a new passion in mentoring young athletes and shaping the future of the game.
