Reese & Company Volunteer Fire Department Visits Gerstell Academy!
During their visit, Pre-K and Kindergarten students rotated through a variety of interactive stations designed to teach fire safety skills. Students practiced "stop, drop, and roll," learned what to do in an emergency, and had the opportunity to ask firefighters questions about their work.
One of the highlights of the visit was watching a firefighter put on full protective gear. Students learned that while the gear may look different or even a little intimidating, firefighters are there to help and should never be avoided during an emergency.
The excitement continued as students explored the fire engine, learned about the different tools and equipment carried on the truck, and even had the chance to climb inside.
The visit was a meaningful way to celebrate Fire Prevention Week while helping students build confidence, learn valuable safety lessons, and gain a greater appreciation for the role firefighters play in keeping our community safe.
We are grateful to the members of the Reese & Community Volunteer Fire Department for taking the time to visit Gerstell and make fire safety education engaging, memorable, and fun for our students.
