Terri Rinehart Builds Relationships

Terri Rinehart brings creativity and enthusiasm to the classroom as she floats about the Gerstell campus. In her second year, Mrs. Rinehart has accepted additional teaching responsibilities, including 6th grade U.S. History, Upper School World History 100, Leadership 100, and Leadership in Film. She is also a ninth grade advisor.

Mrs. Rinehart graduated from Towson University with degrees in History and Geography with an emphasis on Secondary Education. She began her career in a Baltimore County Public High School teaching American Government/Civics, United States History, and World History while coaching Varsity Cheerleading and JV Softball. After three years with the county, she accepted a position
at an independent all-girls Catholic school.

After the birth of her first child, Mrs. Rinehart made the decision to be a stay at home mother to her growing family. Mrs. Rinehart has four children: Luke 18, Evan 16, Grace 15, and Annelise 14.

The goal of Mrs. Rinehart's teaching is developing the whole person. “What matters to me is building relationships with students. I want them to see the importance of events in the past and realize that they have a responsibility to shape our world in the future. Our actions count! We all have the power to make our communities and our world a better place. I feel very fortunate to keep in touch with many of my past students. It is incredibly rewarding to see them become adults and active, informed citizens with families of their own. I feel like my work has meaning beyond just today.”

Mrs. Rinehart’s favorite part of being at Gerstell is working with amazing colleagues and students. She truly feels at home. Gerstell’s Leadership Model coincides with the same value system she stresses with her family.

Mrs. Rinehart is excited for the start of the basketball season as she is an avid fan! She loves her English bulldog and was thrilled that he could take part in this year's Pie Run. Mrs. Rinehart enjoys Bikram Yoga, spending time with family and friends, and watching baseball.
