Christian Scholz '23 Competes in 2022 FIRST Robotics World Championship

Christian Scholz '23 has been a high-level robotics competitor since the age of 14. His team, Robo-Lions 2199 (Robo-Lions), qualified and competed in the 2022 FIRST Robotics World Championship in Houston, Texas last weekend. This event is a culmination of thousands of man-hours that are dedicated to designing, building, competing, and leading the team to success. Christian’s team competed against other aspiring engineers, some of which are sponsored by The Ford Motor Company, NASA executives, top-tier Korean Robotics competitors, and the best 400 teams from around the world. The Robo-Lions impressively approached this endeavor with passion, conviction, and persistence and finished in the top 100; a feat not easily accomplished!

While visiting Houston, Christian also had the opportunity to attend a computer-aided design and drafting seminar and enjoyed meeting with many representatives from different colleges and companies such as NASA, the Department of Defense, The Walt Disney Company, BAE Systems, and more. Congratulations to Christian and his team for reaching new heights and competing with the best of the best!
