Mrs. Heather Snider joined Gerstell Academy in 2004 as the founding Director of our Before and Aftercare Child Care Program, developing it into the success it is today. In 2010, acting on her passion for teaching children, Mrs. Snider taught Intermediate Science and assumed additional responsibilities such as substitute teaching.
Today she teaches fourth, fifth, and seventh grade Science and is a Middle School advisor. She has been named the first All-School STEAM Coordinator, a program she wishes to develop further. Her focus and passion on STEAM's growth is apparent.
Mrs. Snider is a perfect example of someone who demonstrates leadership on a daily basis. Her students and peers consider her a caring advisor and mentor. Mrs. Snider firmly believes in teaching the child as a whole, focusing on individual strengths and weaknesses, and helping students recognize the talents that they have within themselves.
Mrs. Snider approaches tasks with passion, conviction and persistence. During this year she has organized the first Middle School Science Fair, the annual fifth grade Science Fair, the Storm Safety Assembly and has planned many scientific field trips.
At home, she enjoys leading her son Landon and husband C.J. through fun adventures and activities and focusing on what she believes is most important in life - family and love.
