Middle School Students Celebrate on Graduation Day
Eighth grade parents filled the Paterakis Athletic Center café and provided a myriad of breakfast goodies (a tradition started many years ago) on the morning of 8th grade graduation. When it was time for the ceremony to begin, the weather was perfect, and 38 students processed down the middle aisle of the Deborah Paterakis Gymnasium in anticipation of receiving a diploma as a sign that they are moving on to Upper School in just a few short months. There were bittersweet moments as students said goodbye to the teachers they’ve come to love. There was also plenty of joy as they celebrated with parents and grandparents reflecting on how they have grown and how much they have achieved.
We wish to thank Nick Wilson, Gerstell Academy Alumnus from the Class of 2015, who was our special guest speaker for this year's Middle School graduation ceremony. Nick is a 2019 graduate of John Carroll University with a degree in Business Management and Human Resources and a minor in Italian Studies. He obtained his master's degree in May of 2020 and is a Project Manager at JW & Sons.
Special recognition was given to the following students:
Excellence in Community Spirit: Asher Sager & Sabrina Tigoudar
Outstanding Achievement in Athletics Award: Rebecca Sprinkle & Brayden Davis
