Angelina Appiah ’12 is following her dream of becoming a CPA. She graduated from the University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC, formerly UMUC) with an online accelerated Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and a minor in Business Administration. She graduated in May of 2020 and completed UMGC's Bachelor's Program with academic honors of Magna Cum Laude (3.878 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale). She previously completed CCBC's Associate's Program with Cum Laude honors (3.5 cumulative GPA). During the summer of 2020, Angelina took additional coursework, including a course in American sign language to meet the education requirement to sit for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam in Maryland. She is currently working toward completing the exam process.
Angelina gained experience as the Administrative Coordinator at Chamber Encounters, Inc. Chamber Encounters is a nonprofit classical music orchestra school. It was a position that allowed her to gain bookkeeping and accounting experience, as well as business administration. More recently, Angelina is a tax associate for Clifton Larson and Allen.
