Falcon Outreach students take action to thank community members who are helping to keep our citizens safe and healthy. On February 23, freshmen and sophomores gathered in the Wilson Room after school to write thank you notes to the staffers at the Covid-19 vaccine clinic in Westminster. Students also assembled multiple “goodie” bags for the workers, stuffing them with candy, gum, mints, granola bars, snacks, etc. The notes and goodie bags were delivered to the workers Friday, February 26, while many of the Gerstell staff were getting the second dose of the vaccine.
On March 4, juniors and seniors carried out a similar community service activity, writing personal notes to Carroll County first responders. Additional goodie bags were assembled and everything was delivered to the Westminster Volunteer Fire Department.
Upper School students were pleased with this opportunity to express appreciation to the county workers who have persevered throughout the pandemic. Thanks to all the students who shared their time, talents, and treasures!
