Faculty and Students Compete in Annual Charity Basketball Tournament

The Gerstell community joined together last week to compete and improve their community by participating in a charity basketball tournament to benefit Ronald McDonald House. The Upper School Gerstell Student Government Association (GSGA) under the leadership of Antonio Holland, GSGA President, hosted the tournament in the Deborah Paterakis Gymnasium, reviving a popular school tradition. Eight student teams and two faculty/administrator teams faced off for the championship.

Participants worked to reach their full potential and played with a positive attitude as they competed, while GSGA members and volunteers refereed, organized the bracket, collected admission fees, and sold concessions. In the championship game, the student team of Noah Spencer, Ahmad Harrison, Sean Bethea, Che Penn, Dayyan Noble, and Jerry Stanton defeated the faculty team of Shane Stem, Sam Bogage, Marly Andino, Eduardo Martinez, and Laura Robusto.

GSGA members, players, attendees, and volunteers were generous with their time, talents, and treasures, raising over $260 for Ronald McDonald House in Baltimore City which provides housing for families of children receiving medical care.
