Mrs. Paula Dackermann, a Humble and Talented Leader

The day Mrs. Paula Dackermann visited an open house at Gerstell Academy, she felt as if she had come home. In 2006, she began her Gerstell career as a substitute teacher before joining Gerstell full-time later that year as a Kindergarten instructor.

Mrs. Dackermann enjoys her responsibilities as a Kindergarten co-lead teacher, Primary Team Leader, Social Studies liaison, and History Department member. She is also a Gerstell parent. Both as parent and teacher, Mrs. Dackermann embraces our value system, mission and vision. In 2016, she was the recipient of Gerstell's prestigious Presidential Award.

She has enjoyed various leadership opportunities over the years such as team captain for the annual Geography Bee; assisting the First Lego League, Jr. team; partnering with Admissions as Primary testing teacher; serving as head of the Sunshine Club (which assists faculty in times of family loss or illness); and assisting the primary music program.

During the summer months, Mrs. Dackermann directs three camps: The STEAM Camp, the Literacy and STREAM Camp, and the Superkids Literacy Camp. In her free time, her hobbies include painting, photography, baking, sewing, gardening, and enjoying the outdoors with her family.

A humble leader who is talented, giving, unselfish, loving and happy, Mrs. Dackermann's favorite leadership quote is by Gerstell Academy Portrait Leader Thomas Jefferson:  "To learn, you have to listen. To improve, you have to try."
