Gerstell Academy is an independent, co-educational, non-sectarian college preparatory school for students entering Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. As the first leadership school established in Maryland, Gerstell Academy is devoted to the development of leadership skills with an emphasis on physical fitness and to the mastery of fundamental knowledge in a traditional college preparatory curriculum. Gerstell Academy is seeking a Middle School History Teacher with leadership experience for the 2024-2025 academic year. This full-time position includes the possibility of teaching students in grades six through eight. Duties will include teaching Gerstell Academy’s Mission, Motto, Leadership Principles and Attributes, teaching History courses, department work, curriculum mapping, serving as a student advisor, and other duties as assigned or needed to develop the Middle School program. The ideal candidate will hold at least a Bachelor’s Degree in History or related field and will have the ability to teach History as an academic course as well as a vehicle to teach leadership education and character development. Prior teaching experience with the capacity to teach Middle School courses strongly preferred.
