Summer Programs - Summer 2010
ACADEMIC
The summer camps for rising sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth grade students in Mathematics and Spanish will take place in the Paterakis Athletic Center (PAC) during the month of August. This strategically focused instruction will solidify the foundations of required skills and concepts contained in general Mathematics, Algebra, Geometry as well as Middle and Upper School Spanish.
Student participants will be assessed by the teachers to determine the appropriate area of concentration. Small group instruction based on individual learning challenges will provide the needed skill reinforcement and application to ensure a positive academic start to the new school year.

SPORTS
Falcon's Co-Ed Basketball Day Camp
Co-Camp Directors: Roxanne Cannaday & Mary Beth Creed
Ms. Cannaday has served as Head Junior Varsity Girls Basketball Coach, Lower School Physical Education Leader, Former Collegiate Basketball, Softball, and Tennis Player, Camp Director with 11 years experience
Date: June 14th-18th, 2010
Ages: 7 thru 13
Time: Day Camp: 9:00am-3:00pm
Cost: $225 per player
The Falcons Co-Ed Basketball Day Camp offers specialized basketball instruction with an emphasis on the fundamentals essential to developing a player’s game, including rebounding, ball-handling, passing, shooting, and defense. Each day the campers will get to apply these skills in 3-on-3 and/or 5-on-5 games.
The goal of the camp is to help improve players of all abilities by increasing their enthusiasm and self-confidence.

Falcon's All-Sports Day Camp for Girls
Camp Director: Roxanne Cannaday

The Falcons Junior All-Sports Day Camp for Girls is designed to be an introduction to many sports. Over the course of the five day experience, girls will learn the basic fundamentals of volleyball, basketball, tennis, soccer, softball, and lacrosse. They will be instructed by experienced coaches, assisted by junior counselors. Campers will learn teamwork and good sportsmanship. Team spirit will also be encouraged with fun cheers and skits each morning during the opening assembly. In the afternoon, after a lunch break, the girls will have a brief arts and crafts session to relax before an afternoon of organized sports. Most importantly, they will learn to enjoy sports in a positive and supportive atmosphere.

Falcon's All-Sports Day Camp for Boys
Camp Director: Cap Poklemba
Date: June 21st-25th, 2010
Ages: 5 thru 10
Time: Day Camp: 9:00am-3:00pm
Cost: $225 per player
This camp will allow boys an opportunity to participate in a wide variety of sports including soccer, basketball, flag football, floor hockey, volleyball, tennis, lacrosse, and baseball. The campers will be split into 2 age groups while participating in each activity. They will be instructed by experienced coaches who are assisted by junior counselors. Our goal is for your child to have fun, learn the skills involved in each sport, and practice working as a team all while meeting new friends.

Falcon's Baseball School
Camp Director: Cap Poklemba
Date: June 28th - July 2nd, 2010
Ages: 7 thru 14
Time: Day Camp: 9:00am-3:00pm
Cost: $175 per player; Team Discount (10+ players): $200 per player
The Falcons Summer Baseball School offers specialized instruction in the game of baseball with an emphasis on the fundamentals essential to developing each player. Infield/outfield work, pitching, catching, game situations, hitting and various other topics will be covered in detail over the four day camp. Each day the campers will get to apply these skills in various competitions and games. Hitting and fielding drills will be videotaped and reviewed to allow for each player to learn coaching themselves and each other.
The goal of the camp is to help improve players of all abilities by increasing their enthusiasm and self-confidence and expand their knowledge of the game of baseball along with improving upon fundamental skills.

Falcon Soccer Academy for Boys and Girls
Co-Camp Directors: Mary Beth Creed & Sean Todd
Ms. Creed serves as Head Girls Soccer Coach, as well as Lower, Middle, and Upper School Physical Education Teacher, and is a former collegiate soccer player.

Time: Day Camp: 9:00am-3:00pm
Cost: $225 per player
Falcons Soccer Academy will teach fundamentals to the beginner as well as advanced skills and techniques to the experienced player. The camp is designed to improve the skills of all players, regardless of ability level. The morning session will focus on skill development and individual play working on ball control, passing, 1 on 1’s, shooting and defending. The afternoon session will help develop the campers into team players, working on team concepts playing both small-sided and full-sided games.

Fearless Lacrosse Camp for Girls
Co-Camp Directors: Jessy Morgan and Mary Beth Creed
Morgan is the Head Woman's Lacrosse Coach at Howard University. She was an All-American at University of Virginia where she was a 4-year member. She is a former member of the U.S. National Team.
Ms. Creed serves as Head Girls Soccer Coach, as well as Lower, Middle, and Upper School Physical Education Teacher, and is a former collegiate soccer player.
Other coaches will include high school and college players.
Date: July 12th - 16th, 2010
Ages: 7 thru 14
Time: Day Camp: 9:00am-3:00pm
Cost: $235 per player (Early Registration; ends May 15th, 2010)
Cost: $265 per player (Regular Registration)
Fearless lacrosse camp for girls is designed for girls who are enthusiastic about the game of lacrosse and are interested in improving their skills. The camp will give all players the opportunity to acquire the skills necessary to fulfill their goals and to reach their full potential. Every facet of the game is covered, teaching you the fundamentals and the skills to become an impact player. Stick skills, shooting, defensive concepts, 2v2, 3v3, and full field games play will be incorporated into a fun filled week of camp. Girls of all skill levels are encouraged to participate.
