Gerstell Academy Girls Lacrosse Camp                    


Camp Director: Erin LaMotte Koenig; Head Girls Lacrosse Coach, Gerstell Academy

Date: June 25th-28th – Ages 11 thru 18; Time: Day Camp: 8:30am-3:00pm

The players can look forward to having daily interaction and instruction from various college coaches and past and present college players. They will have to ability to learn and grow into more dynamic and diverse lacrosse players while gaining knowledge in basic fundamental skills while highlighting individual technique and team strategies. The camp will include specialized instruction for goalkeepers including: technique, strategy and incorporation within the defensive unit. Lastly we will integrate speed and agility training into the daily skill sessions.

(Cost: $200 per player)

Date: June 29th-30th Ages 5 thru 10;  Time: Evening Camp: 6:00-8:00pm

The evening camp will consist of basic skills and instructing the players on refining and structuring certain techniques to allow the players to advance their knowledge of the game. We will be introducing drills, small side games and full field games to provide an enjoyment while learning!

(Cost: $60 per player)

       Gerstell Academy Boys’ Soccer “Striker” Camp

Camp Director: Cap Poklemba; Head Soccer Coach/Director of Athletics, Gerstell Academy

Date: July 7th-11th – Ages 9 thru 14; Time: Day Camp: 9:00am-3:00pm

The soccer “Striker Camp” will focus on the attacking half of the soccer field. Drills, one-on-one skill work, set pieces, scrimmages, and grid work will be used to stress the importance of ball control and quality finishing on the soccer pitch. A great deal of time will be applied to finishing inside the 18 including instruction on volleying, heading, set piece work, and penalty kick preparation. The physical and mental part of offensive soccer will be stressed daily. Each camper will receive individual attention and instruction from quality coaches and players from the high school and college level. All camps will be run at Gerstell Academy on their top-of-the-line synthetic field turf stadium. A camp t-shirt will be provided to each camper. (Cost: $275 per player)

       Gerstell Academy Cap Poklemba Kicking Academy

Camp Director: Cap Poklemba; Head Soccer Coach/Director of Athletics, Gerstell Academy (Former Division I player and professional place-kicker.)

Date: June 23rd-August 6th (Monday-Wednesday Evenings)

        [Workouts must be reserved by phone a week in advance]

Time: Evening Camp: 5:00pm-6:30pm

The aim of the CPKA is to effectively train your child to maximize their kicking potential. All successful kickers at any level have sound mechanics, an excellent practice routine and mental toughness. The goal of this camp is to introduce the basic knowledge and skill sets required in placekicking. Games and competitions will be incorporated to build a strong foundation for continued improvement. This camp will be structured to break down the kicking motion to its most basic form. Each child will have an understanding of basic techniques of kicking, foot placement, foot angle, body lean, and follow through. Campers will receive individual training in groups of 3 or less per workout. Each child will be coached by Cap Poklemba, former All Big East college kicker from Temple University who also has professional kicking experience with teams in the NFL, AFL, and CIFL. All workouts will be run at Gerstell Academy on their top-of-the-line synthetic field turf stadium. (Cost: $50 per workout (limit 3 kickers per workout))

       Gerstell Academy Junior All-Sports Camp For Boys

Camp Director: Phil Gilotte

Date:June 16th-20th Ages 6 thru 9 (by June 1st); Time: Day Camp 9:00am-3:00pm

This camp will allow boys an opportunity to participate in a wide variety of sports including soccer, basketball, flag football, floor hockey, volleyball, tennis, and baseball. The campers will be split into 2 age groups while participating in each activity. They will be instructed by experienced coaches who are assisted by junior counselors. Our goal is for your child to have fun, learn the skills involved in each sport, and practice working as a team all while meeting new friends. (Cost: $225 per player)

       Gerstell Academy Falcon Soccer Camp For Girls

Camp Director: Mary Beth Creed

Date: July 14th- 18th Ages: 9 thru 14 (by June 1st) Day Camp: 9:00am-3:00pm

Falcon Girls’ Soccer Camp will teach fundamentals to the beginner as well as advanced skills and techniques to the experienced player. The camp is designed to improve the skills of all players, regardless of ability level. The morning session will focus on skill development and individual play working on ball control, passing, 1 on 1’s, shooting and defending. The afternoon session will help develop the campers into team players working on team concepts playing both small sided and full sided games. Mary Beth Creed, the Girls Soccer Coach at Gerstell, will direct the camp and will be assisted by other local coaches, college players and high school players. (Cost: $225 per player)

Date: July 14th-18th Age: 5 thru 8 (by June 1st), Time: 9am-12pm

Falcon Junior Soccer Camp for Girls is designed for the beginning soccer player. This half day program will introduce basic soccer skills and games with an emphasis on fun. Mary Beth Creed the Girls Soccer Coach at Gerstell will direct the camp and will be assisted by other local coaches, college players and high school players. (Cost: $125 per player)

       Gerstell Academy Junior All-Sports Camp For Girls

Camp Director: Roxanne Cannaday; Head Girls Basketball Coach/Lower School Physical Education Leader at Gerstell Academy. (Former Collegiate Player in Basketball, Softball and Tennis; 10 years of Camp Director Experience)

Date: June 16-20 Ages: 5 thru 9, Time: Day Camp 9:00am-3:00pm

The Gerstell Academy Junior All-Sports Camp for Girls is designed to be an introduction to many sports. Over the course of the five day experience, girls will learn the basic fundamentals of volleyball, basketball, tennis, soccer, softball, and lacrosse. They will be instructed by experienced coaches, assisted by junior counselors. Campers will learn teamwork and good sportsmanship. Team spirit will also be encouraged with fun cheers and skits each morning during the opening assembly. In the afternoon, after a lunch break, the girls will have a brief arts and crafts session to relax before an afternoon of organized sports. Most importantly, they will learn to enjoy sports in a positive and supportive atmosphere. (Cost: $225 per player)

       Gerstell Academy Co-Ed Basketball Camp

Co-Camp Directors: Roxanne Cannaday and Mary Beth Creed

Date: June 30-July 3 Ages: 7 thru 12, Time: Day Camp 9:00am-3:00pm

The Gerstell Academy Co-Ed Basketball Camp offers specialized basketball instruction with an emphasis on the fundamentals essential to developing a player’s game, including rebounding, ball-handling, passing, shooting, and defense. Each day the campers will get to apply these skills in 3-on-3 and/or 5-on-5 games.
The goal of the camp is to help improve players of all abilities by increasing their enthusiasm and self-confidence. (Cost: $200 per player)
