Middle School Technology
The technology segment of the Gerstell Middle School curriculum is integrated in the curriculum in two separate ways. First, through everyday coursework where technology will be used to augment existing academic curricula, and secondly, through the use of technology specific courses. A major component of the technology program is the development of a general set of guidelines describing technology liiterate students at key developmental points in their pre-college education. These guidelines reflect the underlying assumption that all students should have the opportunity to develop technology skills that support learning, personal productivity, decision making, and real life scenarios. These guidelines and associated standards provide a framework for preparing students to be lifelong learners who make informed decisions about the role of technology in their lives and the world around them.
The links below provide a more in-depth overview of how Gerstell's Technology Program is implemented and how it is integrated into the National Educational Technology Standards for Students.
