Middle School English

The English/Language Arts course in the Middle School will build upon the knowledge and skills gained in the Lower School. The course is literature based with strong writing, vocabulary, and grammar components.

Areas of emphasis include the study of literature, writing, grammar and usage. Students study poetry, fiction, drama, and other genre.

Wherever authentic and appropriate, literature choices will complement the study of History and Leadership. In readings of both fiction and non-fiction, special attention is given to both heroic figures of myth and legend, as well as real life leaders in history.

Middle School students read monthly literature selections reflective of curriculum areas studied in all subjects.
