Lower School – Leadership Education

Leadership Education permeates all levels of our teaching. It begins with us: the lives we lead and project; the routines within our classrooms, in our hallways and on our playing fields.  

Beginning in Pre/K children are introduced to the Gerstell Principles and the Leadership Attributes providing the foundation for character building skills and attainment of fundamental knowledge that will become integral to their lives. We want our children to carry with them a sense of confidence, social ease, understanding and self-discipline that serves them well, inside the classroom, at home and beyond. It is our goal for the students to incorporate our Gerstell Motto: Leadership, Honor, Courage, into their everyday lives, and to embrace the motto as "truth well lived".

In this complex world, it takes more than a good school to educate children. And it takes more than a good home. It takes these two major institutions working together.
