Pre-K Social Studies

Pre- Kindergarten students study many themes throughout the year. Students become acquainted with school routines, rules, and one another.

Somes themes include: All About Me, The Five Senses, My Family, My Community.

Seasonal Themes include varying cultural holidays and celebrations such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwaanza, changes in the weather .

The study of animals includes habitats, hibernation, camouflage, and necessary adaptations.

In the spring, students study the atmosphere, birds, and plants.

Students study the difference between a city community and a rural community.

Field trips are coordinated with social studies topics.
