The Gerstell Academy faculty and staff work cooperatively to serve as role models for the entire school community. All functions of school operation provide learning opportunities for Gerstell Academy students. Faculty and staff will mentor, teach, and challenge Gerstell Academy students to grow into roles of greater responsibility. Administration/Staff

Position Title: Admissions Assistant

Gerstell Academy is a private co-educational, non-sectarian, college preparatory leadership school based on the value system defined by the Gerstell Academy Mission, Motto, Principles & Attributes.

The Admissions Assistant is responsible for all administrative aspects of the Gerstell admissions office.

The Admissions Assistant plays an important role by providing administrative support to the Admissions Office by participating in admissions-related activities including database management, telephone and email responses, open houses and special events.

The Admissions Assistant is expected to provide superior customer service to prospective and current school families, guests, and other school community members, in-person, on the telephone and via electronic communication. He or she is expected to also have the basic information necessary to answer frequently asked questions to better serve the Gerstell community with various inquiries. Occasional off-hour attendance at and assistance with Admissions events will be necessary. The position is full-time and year round, and reports to the Director of Admissions.

Job Responsibilities:

Admissions Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate production and mailing of all admissions letters and communication as directed.
  • Perform all data entry with admissions database including inquiries, entry of new student intakes, tracking of application and enrollment documents
  • Schedule and coordinate student visitors for campus shadow days
  • Maintain inventory of admission materials, admission files, publications, and letterhead as well as prepared admissions information packets
  • Schedule meetings, tours, and interviews with prospective families
  • Maintain guest lists & RSVP's, gather and prepare registration materials, staff registration table, assist with reserving, setting up and cleaning up event space, create name tags, obtain and coordinate refreshments and/or catering for all admissions events & open houses
  • Assist with recruitment activities
  • Prepare admission files for all applicants.
  • Create reports from admission database and Blackbaud as directed, include status reports of admission funnel progression, re-enrollment of returning students, and attrition.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions.


Qualifications

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field
  • A minimum of three years' experience in an administrative position, preferably in a private school admission office
  • Proficiency in Social Media, Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Database management experience - Blackbaud Admissions Office preferred
  • Willingness to be trained in fundamentals of software and database essentials as necessary
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work, multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Gerstell Academy is accepting applications for the position of Junior Varsity Head Lacrosse Coach for the 2018 spring season. Gerstell Academy is seeking a Varsity Assistant Baseball coach/recruiting coordinator with leadership, coaching and recruiting experience for the 2018 season. Gerstell Academy is a private co-educational, non-sectarian, college preparatory leadership school based on the value system defined by the Gerstell Academy Mission, Motto, Principles and Attributes. Gerstell Academy has established a successful baseball program that competes in the MIAA "B" Conference. The desired candidate will be able to assist with practice planning and execution, game day operations and coaching as well as spearhead the recruiting process for potential student-athletes. Qualified candidates should have prior baseball coaching experience and knowledge of local travel/summer elite baseball programs. Upper School

Long-Term Substitute - Upper School Spanish Teacher

Gerstell Academy is seeking a long-term substitute Upper School Spanish teacher with leadership experience for the period of November 27, 2017 - February 23, 2018. Gerstell Academy is a private co-educational, non-sectarian, college preparatory leadership school based on the value system defined by the Gerstell Academy Mission, Motto, Principles and Attributes. Gerstell Academy has established a Spanish program that begins in the Lower School with the goal of having each student proficient at the intermediate-mid level or higher by grade twelve. The desired candidate will be able to teach Upper School Intermediate Level Spanish (Levels 3 and 4) and College Level Seminar (Level 5) as an academic course and as a vehicle to teach leadership education and character development. Duties include teaching Spanish courses, along with the Mission, Motto, Principles and Attributes, and performing other duties as assigned. Job Description:
Roles and Responsibilities

A bus driver for Gerstell Academy must have good communication skills, be able to work effectively as a team member and with students of all ages, and adhere to the Leadership Principles, Attributes and policies of the school. The driver must be able to complete vehicle pre and post trip inspections, comply with all the DOT and MVA standards that apply, including a criminal background check, random Drug and Alcohol Testing, Medical examination/certification, and routine Driving Record background checks.

Furthermore, the driver must follow all safety policies and emergency procedures, including an ability to safely adhere to all route schedules; must be able to communicate schedule changes weeks in advance and be flexible during on duty periods to cover transportation requests.

Additional Requirements:
Submit to Driver Monitoring Program.
Participate in weekly transportation safety and staff meetings.
Supervise students after lower school dismissal (30min)
Positive, flexible attitude, willing to jump in and help where needed.
Other duties, as assigned by the Director of Transportation, or President of the School.

Preferred Skills:
Three years professional driving experience (buses or 15 passenger vans) preferred; will train to Commercial Driver's License standards with School Bus, Air Brakes, and Passenger endorsements.

Additional Notes:
Set Schedule: Weekdays (School Days) 5:45am-8:15am & 3:00pm-6:00pm
Flexibility: Field Trips and Athletic Events vary, but will include morning and evening routes and the occasional Saturday; Back-up availability to cover absences for the morning route 5:45am-8:15am.
