Associate Director of College Guidance
Gerstell Academy is seeking a full-time Associate Director of College Guidance. The Associate will work with the Director of College Guidance and is expected to know, understand, model, and incorporate the Gerstell Academy Value System and Leadership Model into all aspects of the College Guidance Program.
The job description includes but is not limited to the following:
- Assist the Director in initiating and sustaining college contacts through campus visits, meetings with representatives, as well as completing and reviewing letters of recommendation for each student of the graduating class.
- Coordinate registration of students in concurrent-enrollment college courses and online high school courses. Maintain all records (enrollment, grades, payment) and serve as proctor for online tests.
- Meet with families and/or parents about their student's college admission process.
- Update and maintain college communication bulletin board.
- Maintain a list of local and national scholarships that will serve as a resource to the students and parents of Gerstell Academy.
- Update students files and provide training on the online college admission software program database - Naviance.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of College Guidance, the Head of Upper School and the President.
- Maintain a high level of verbal, written, and electronic communication with teachers, students and parents.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Power Point, and The Education Edge (school administrative software).
- Be proficient in Naviance software program.
- Attend all College Guidance Student-Parent Forums and support the Director of College Guidance during those events. Be prepared to present at College Guidance Student-Parent Forums in the absence of the Director of College Guidance.
- Assist with the standardized testing process for grades 9-12.

Head of Lower School Admissions
Gerstell Academy is seeking a full time Lower School Admissions Associate. This position is a 12-month position with hours that are conducted primarily during the work week, but include evening and weekend responsibilities.
The Lower School admissions associate will lead all aspects of the primary and elementary admissions process for prospective Pre-K through Fifth grade applicants. The primary responsibilities of this highly visible position include:
-coordinate outreach in the community to generate interest in the Gerstell Academy lower school program, working closely with preschool directors, educational consultants, and local educational organizations. Represent Gerstell at local events.
-plan and lead admissions events for parents and prospective students, including tours, open house, community events, and receptions/playdates for admitted and enrolled families.
-manage the applicant pool, including application and file review, coordinating applicant visits and assessments, and overseeing Pre-K and Kindergarten group evaluations.
-Coordinate lower school shadow day visits for prospective students.
-Present candidates for admission to Admissions Committee and maintain open communications with Director of Admissions.
-Bachelor's Degree and knowledge of early childhood elementary education.
-Minimum of three year's experience in lower school admissions with demonstrated success in enrollment growth.
-Strong marketing ability aligned with social media experience.
-Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.

Gerstell Academy is seeking a Mathematics teacher for the 2017-18 academic year with leadership experience and capable of teaching, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus and Probability & Statistics. Gerstell Academy is a private, co-educational, non-sectarian, college preparatory leadership school based on the value system defined by the Gerstell Academy Mission, Motto, Principles and Attributes. This full-time position includes teaching students in grades six through twelve. Duties will include teaching the Mission, Motto, Principles and Attributes, teaching mathematics courses, committee work, curriculum mapping, serving as a student advisor, and other duties as assigned or needed to develop school programs. Roles and Responsibilities
A bus driver for Gerstell Academy must have good communication skills, be able to work effectively as a team member and with students of all ages, and adhere to the Leadership Principles, Attributes and policies of the school. The driver must be able to complete vehicle pre and post trip inspections, comply with all the DOT and MVA standards that apply, including a criminal background check, random Drug and Alcohol Testing, Medical examination/certification, and routine Driving Record background checks.
Furthermore, the driver must follow all safety policies and emergency procedures, including an ability to safely adhere to all route schedules; must be able to communicate schedule changes weeks in advance and be flexible during on duty periods to cover transportation requests.
Submit to Driver Monitoring Program.
Participate in weekly transportation safety and staff meetings.
Supervise students after lower school dismissal (30min)
Positive, flexible attitude, willing to jump in and help where needed.
Other duties, as assigned by the Director of Transportation, or President of the School.
Three years professional driving experience (buses or 15 passenger vans) preferred; will train to Commercial Driver's License standards with School Bus, Air Brakes, and Passenger endorsements.

Flexibility: Field Trips and Athletic Events vary, but will include morning and evening routes and the occasional Saturday; Back-up availability to cover absences for the morning route 5:45am-8:15am.
