Middle School Administrative Assistant Position
Gerstell Academy is seeking an Administrative Assistant. This position is a full-time, 10-month position with hours that are conducted primarily during the school year from the end of August to the beginning of June.
The Administrative Assistant position will support the Middle School Administration and the Director and Assistant Director of Athletics with responsibilities as they relate to office management and daily operations. Daily operational tasks will include duties, such as, answering the phone, filing, assisting with mailings, ordering supplies, preparing for events, and any other duties as assigned by the Administration. The Administrative Assistant will also help with greeting and supporting students, parents, faculty, and guests to the Paterakis Athletic Center. This position will also support the Administrative Assistant to the Head of Middle School.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- The desired candidate should be a strong team player and have the ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced school environment.
- Possess strong organizational skills.
- Proficient with the use of word processing (MS Word) and email (Outlook).
-Minimum of 3 years administrative support experience.

Gerstell Academy is seeking a Mathematics teacher for the 2017-18 academic year with leadership experience and capable of teaching, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus and Probability & Statistics. Gerstell Academy is a private, co-educational, non-sectarian, college preparatory leadership school based on the value system defined by the Gerstell Academy Mission, Motto, Principles and Attributes. Roles and Responsibilities
A bus driver for Gerstell Academy must have good communication skills, be able to work effectively as a team member and with students of all ages, and adhere to the Leadership principles and policies of the school. The driver must be able to complete vehicle pre and post trip inspections, comply with all the DOT and MVA standards that apply, including a criminal background check, random Drug and Alcohol Testing, Medical examination/certification, and routine Driving Record background checks.
Furthermore, the driver must follow all safety policies and emergency procedures, including an ability to safely adhere to all route schedules; must be able to communicate schedule changes weeks in advance and be flexible during on duty periods to cover transportation requests.
Submit to Driver Monitoring Program.
Participate in weekly transportation safety and staff meetings.
Supervise students after lower school dismissal (30min)
Positive, flexible attitude, willing to jump in and help where needed.
Other duties, as assigned by the Director of Transportation, or President of the School.
Three years professional driving experience (buses or 15 passenger vans) preferred; will train to Commercial Driver's License standards with School Bus, Air Brakes, and Passenger endorsements.
Set Schedule: Weekdays (School Days) 2:45pm-5:00pm
Flexibility: Field Trips and Athletic Events vary, but can include morning or evening routes and the occasional Saturday; Back-up availability to cover absences for the morning route 5:45am-8:30am.
