At Gerstell Academy, development of healthy habits for a lifetime is an integral part of leadership education. Physical training provides both daily physical education and competitive athletic opportunities. Students participate in daily physical exercise, outdoor recess, intramural sports, athletic competition, dance, and weight training, as well as take classes in sports medicine and nutrition.
Lower school students participate in physical education classes four times per week; middle school students participate in physical education classes five times per week, while upper school students participate in a variety of physical education electives.
Gerstell Academy offers competitive athletics for boys and girls starting in grade six. Students compete in soccer, basketball, lacrosse, cross country, and baseball. Wrestling is offered for boys at the middle and upper school level. .
