Attaining that leadership role for a Gerstell student will require years of work and commitment to the academics, physical training, and spiritual and social enlightenment. Learning will go beyond the classroom and textbook setting. For these students their learning experiences will also encompass hands on education where history, science, mathematics, art, language, and leadership come to life.
This unique and rewarding approach to education does come with a cost. Our number one priority is to sustain this level of quality education for all our students. To accomplish this the school must attract the best faculty and administration; it must provide students with field trips, travel and excursions to complement the curriculum; it must keep up to date with the latest computer upgrades and other forms of technology; it must provide a campus with stable and inviting buildings; it must provide a safe haven for our students; it must ensure small class size; it must prepare our students with a regimen of physical activity and a wellness attitude; it must provide opportunities for dialogue among speakers and lecturers who address relevant topics; it must support the creative side of our students by exposing them to and participating in the arts; it must provide classrooms with the necessary tools and equipment for the learning experience, and it must stock its library with a variety of books and publications from classic literature to biographies.
Yes, this task is economically challenging, but the end result is worth it. Gerstell Academy is at a place where new buildings are being constructed, higher class grades are forming and faculty, administrators and facilities personnel are expanding. We could raise tuition costs, but that could deter qualified children from attending. Our tuition costs are not as high as other private schools, and our goal is to try and keep tuitions costs down. So, other avenues of revenue require exploration.
