He started his education at a community college in NY and majored in Greg StefanelliElectricalTechnology. After completing his degree, he worked as an electrical technician at a high-energy physics laboratory on Long Island.  He decided to further his education by returning to school to pursue his advanced degrees, and as a result, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering in 1985, his Master’s degree in Computer Engineering in 1992, and numerous industry certifications since then. He is listed as a Microsoft Certified Trainerfor a number of Microsoft products and services, and is currently working on his doctorate in Education Technology with an emphasis on Educational Leadership.

Mr. Stefanelli has worked as a technician and engineer on a variety of military and commercial contracts, mostly those dealing with aircraft and satellite communications until 1992, when he was asked to join the Computer Information Systems faculty of Carroll Community College in Westminster, MD where he remained for 12 years advancing to Associate Professor.  During his time with the community college, Mr. Stefanelli developed a number of new programs including industry certification programs in network security, hardware & software systems, programming, and productivity applications. In addition, he worked to coordinate course offerings between the community college and local high schools and 4 year institutions.

His business experience includes starting and co-managing a 2-site child care facilities and working as a consulting engineer offering services in network security, computer forensics, and software application training. Clients include Johns Hopkins Hospital and University, various U.S. government agencies, the Baltimore Orioles, and University of Maryland.

By far, THE most important parts of Mr. Stefanelli ’s life are his 2 girls who make him very proud to be Daddy on a regular basis. He’s learned that raising children can sometimes be very unfair as we, as parents, are tasked with the responsibility of preparing our children to leave us so that they can survive on their own.  As much as he wants them to stay close to him, he’s learning that it is part of the process to let them go… gently, but assuredly.  Mr. Stefanelli has a passion for cooking, is committed to the concept of holistic health, and considers himself to be an environmentalist as he is deeply concerned about what we, as a people, are doing to the world around us.  He considers himself to be a life-long learner and is excited about being a part of this next phase of his educational life in the ‘doctoral world’!
