Dr. Margaret Secoda

Margaret Secoda serves Gerstell Academy as Head of Lower School.

Dr. Secoda comes to us with 35 years of combined teaching and administrative experience in the academic arena.

Dr. Secoda attended Holy Family University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. She holds a Masters of Science degree in Education from Arcadia University where she graduated cum laude. Additionally, Dr. Secoda holds a Doctorate in Leadership Education from Immaculata University.

Until June of 2006, Dr. Secoda served as an elementary school principal for a K-8 Catholic school in Pennsylvania. She also taught at Holy Family University as an Adjunct Professor. Dr. Secoda was nominated for the NCEA Dr. Robert A. Kealey Award for Distinguished Principal (Archdiocese of Philadelphia) in 2005. She was elected Coordinator for District Eight Principals Leadership Team twice where she also served as Secretary. She was awarded the Immaculata Graduate Award for 2004, and served as a convention delegate for the 2004 NCEA Education convention.

Dr. Secoda has been married for 42 years, and together with her husband, has raised six children who are well educated, productive citizens. She and her husband are proud grandparents of 16 grandchildren.

Dr. Secoda and her family currently reside in Carroll County.
