Dr. Lorraine Fulton

Dr. Lorraine Fulton serves Gerstell Academy as Head of Middle School.

Dr. Fulton joined the Gerstell community with 34 years of service to Maryland Public School children. She has been a classroom teacher, resource teacher for Gifted and Talented, middle schooladministrator, Supervisor of instruction, Director of Student Services, and an Assistant, Deputy and Interim Superintendent of Schools at the county level. Before coming to Carroll County Public Schools as Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, Dr. Fulton served as an educational leader in St. Mary’s County for over 20 years. She continues her passion for teaching as an adjunct professor for Carroll Community College.

Dr. Fulton has been an educator and a student throughout her years of service. She holds a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from University of Maryland at College Park, a Masters in Guidance and Counseling from Bowie State University, a Masters in Education with Administration and Supervision from Salisbury State University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design.

Dr. Fulton is an active member of the Carroll County community serving on numerous boards and service organizations. She and her husband, Colin, a retired educator, live in Carroll County, and have four grown children and seven grandchildren.
