Shirley Brockmeyer

Shirley Brockmeyer serves Gerstell Academy as one of the First Grade classroom leaders and has participated as a member of the Gerstell Academy Math Curriculum Committee.

Mrs. Brockmeyer graduated from Towson State University (TSU) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, Spanish, and a minor in History. She returned to TSU to work on her degree in Early Childhood Education, then continued her studies at Goucher College where she worked on a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. Shirley is a member of the Phi Alpha Theta Honor Society. She lived in Spain and studied at the University of Madrid. She also lived on a Sioux Reservation in South Dakota and worked with the children on the reservation. Shirley worked for the Archdiocese of Baltimore for 19 years before coming to Gerstell Academy.

Mrs. Brockmeyer enjoys reading, spending time at various beaches, walking, ice skating, and kayaking.

Mrs. Brockmeyer resides in Carroll County with her husband and two children.
