Norm Smith

Norm Smith joins Gerstell Academy as Middle School Leadership teacher.

He received a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministry from Tennessee Temple University and a Master  of Arts from Bethany Divinity School.

His work experience includes time as a high school teacher and coach, a camp counselor and camp director.

He has started or partnered in the start-up of a number of non-profit organizations.  He also founded a non-denominational church, leading it for thirteen years, seeing it grow from eight people to several hundred.  He has a passion for leadership, having learned the truth of the maxim, “Everything rises or falls on leadership.”  His passion is to equip the young people of Gerstell for leadership and for life.

He was born and raised in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains in southeastern Kentucky.  He grew up enjoying the outdoors – hiking, camping, fishing, and hunting.  He enjoys these activities today, along with archery and golf.
