Mattie Eckerman

Mattie Eckerman serves Gerstell Academy as Head Athletic Trainer and also teaches Physical Education classes for both the Lower and Upper schools.

Ms. Eckerman earned a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise and Sports Science at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, specializing in the nationally accredited Athletic Training Program and interning with multiple athletic teams at UNC. She is National Board Certified and Licensed in athletic training since 2008. Ms. Eckerman earned a Masters of Education in Kinesiology at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro while also completing the NC Teaching Certification requirements.

When not working at Gerstell, Ms Eckerman enjoys sports, board games, movies, shopping, and spending time with family and friends.

Ms. Eckerman lives with her family in Baltimore County.
