Milton E. (Bruce) Hilliard, Jr.

Butch Hilliard serves as Gerstell Academy's Middle and Upper School Mathematics and Science Classroom Leader. In addition, Mr. Hilliard will serve as Gerstell Academy's Lacrosse Coach to the Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools.

Mr. Hilliard graduated from Cornell University with a Masters degree in Engineering and Bachelors degree in Science. He joined Gerstell in the Spring of 2008 after a full career of 38 years in Engineering and Program Management for Westinghouse/Northrop Grumman in Maryland. He has one patent in his name. He is currently pursuing his teaching certificate.

Mr. Hilliard will teach Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Physics, and substitute in the science program as required. In addition, Mr. Hilliard will run a Saturday clinic for five, six, and seven year olds.

Mr. Hilliard has a significant lacrosse resumé including two time selection as 1st team Division 1 All-American as well as induction into National Lacrosse Hall of Fame. He has significant coaching experience at all levels including college, high school, and recreational programs including 6-8, 9-10, and 11-12 year olds.

Mr. Hilliard was born and raised in the Baltimore area and currently resides in Carroll County with his wife, Debbie. His three children are grown, but live in the surrounding DC/Maryland/Pennsylvania area. He has three grandchildren.
