Deborah Doyle
Deborah Doyle is Chair of the Spanish Department and also teaches Middle and Upper School Spanish.
Sra. Do
yle earned a Masters in Spanish Linguistics from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. and a Bachelors in Spanish and Secondary Education from the University of Maryland, College Park. She spent her junior year studying under the auspices of St. Louis University in Madrid, Spain.
Prior to her arrival at Gerstell Academy, Sra. Doyle served as World Languages Resource Teacher for Howard County Public Schools. Her experience includes teaching all levels of Spanish, including Advanced Placement. She also taught English to Speakers of Other Languages. In addition, she spent five years directing a professional development schools program where she served as liaison between UMBC and Howard County Schools.
Sra. Doyle is State Director of La Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (National Spanish Honor Society). She serves on the Board of Directors of the Maryland Foreign Language Association and is a member of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. (AATSP). She is a frequent presenter at state and national conferences. Sra. Doyle was honored as Maryland Language Educator of the Year in 2008. She resides in Howard County with her family.
