Craig Meister

Craig Meister serves as Gerstell Academy's Director of College Guidance.

Craig Meister joined Gerstell Academy in 2009 tasked with the challenge of building the upper school guidance office from the ground up.

In addition to acting as Gerstell’s Director of College Guidance, Mr. Meister is the president of Tactical College Consulting, a full-service admissions consultancy that guides students and parents through the college search and application process. Most recently, Mr. Meister founded Ivy Haz, the leading consultancy for students targeting America's finest colleges and universities.

Mr. Meister’s distinctive background in admissions, consulting, and reporting has contributed to his novel approach to college counseling. Mr. Meister has experience as both a college guidance counselor and an undergraduate admissions officer; yet, before entering the world of admissions, he worked as a management consultant in New York City, where he developed innovative communication strategies for some of the world’s most successful corporations. Additionally, Mr. Meister has worked as a newspaper and broadcast news journalist and as a Budapest-based Political Section employee for the US Department of State.

Mr. Meister is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and he earned his Certificate in College Counseling from UCLA. An authority at shedding light on the often intimidating and confusing, yet vitally important world of college admissions, Craig speaks regularly at schools, non-profits, and corporations.

Mr. Meister currently resides in Baltimore County.
