Carey Wargo

Carey Wargo serves as Middle and Upper School Mathematics Teacher and Middle School Advisor at Gerstell Academy.

Mrs. Wargo joined Gerstell Academy at the beginning of the 2011-2012 Academic School Year. She comes to Gerstell with a very diverse and vast array of professional experiences. Mrs. Wargo was a Home and Hospital Instructor for Carroll County Public Schools, and prior to that served both as an Elementary and High School Counselor. Her High School experience included working in the Flexible Student Support Program, which is an alternative program designed for drop-out prevention and assists students in meeting graduation requirements. She also worked as Director of Programs for the Believe In Tomorrow National Children’s Foundation, a Baltimore based non-profit organization for critically ill children. As Director of Programs for Believe In Tomorrow, she implemented the Dreamsurfer Network, an internet-based chat room and support network for critically ill teenagers, which was created at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Mrs. Wargo is very active in the local community and volunteers for numerous organizations as she believes serving and supporting others is vital to being a great leader. She coaches K-1 Girl’s Basketball Clinic, and she teaches Sunday School and Kid’s Club at her church.

Mrs. Wargo currently resides in Carroll County with her family.
